If you’re running a local business or targeting people in specific areas, this feature in ReachOwl can really come in handy.
Now, instead of just choosing a broad audience, you can focus on people who’ve tagged a location in their Instagram posts — whether they live there or are just visiting. It’s a smart way to find people with a real connection to a place.
Let’s walk through how to use this.
Step 1: Choose Campaign Type
Start by selecting the Instagram Audience by Location campaign from your ReachOwl dashboard.
Step 2: Get the Instagram Location URL
Click the “https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations” link. This will take you directly to Instagram’s location explorer. If you’re unsure how to grab the right Instagram location URL, we’ve got a full guide for that here.
Step 3: Paste the Location URL
Copy the Instagram location link from your browser and paste it into the field in ReachOwl. Then click Next.
Step 4: Choose Action Type
Now, choose what kind of campaign you want to run:
- Send message sequence
- Send follow request
For example, let’s go with follow request.
Step 5: Fill Campaign Details
Here, give your campaign a clear name —something that’ll help you identify it later, especially if you’re running multiple campaigns.
Then, select the Instagram account you want to use. ReachOwl supports multiple accounts, so pick the one that fits this campaign.
Click Save when done.
Step 6: Confirm Your Campaign
You’ll now see a confirmation screen. Review your settings, and if everything looks good, click Start My Campaign.
Step 7: Campaign Goes Live
That’s it — your campaign starts scanning the audience. It usually takes around 10 minutes to finish this part.
Once it’s active, you can go in and edit or stop the campaign whenever you need to. It’s built to be flexible.
Conclusion
This feature makes it easier to reach people in the exact area you care about — not just random users, but ones who’ve tagged a location. That can mean a lot if you’re doing local promotions, event-based outreach, or geo-targeted lead gen.
Try it out and start reaching people in the exact places that matter to your business.
