When you’re trying to grow your brand on Instagram, who you reach out to matters just as much as how many people you reach. With ReachOwl’s new filtering feature, you don’t have to waste time on the wrong audience anymore.
Now, you can scrape someone’s followers on Instagram — but only keep the ones who actually fit your goals.
This feature lets you:
- Include people based on keywords in their bio (like “freelancer,” “coach,” or “content creator”)
- Exclude profiles that don’t match your audience (like “fan page” or “giveaway account”)
- Set a minimum follower count so you’re targeting people with some level of reach
Step 1: Choose Campaign Type
From your ReachOwl dashboard, start a new campaign and select: Instagram followers of someone.
Step 2: Get the Username
Go to Instagram and find the profile whose followers you want to scan. Copy the username of that profile.
Step 3: Paste the Username
Back in ReachOwl, paste the username into the campaign setup and click Next.
Step 4: Select Action Type
Now, choose what kind of action you want your campaign to take:
- Send message sequence
- Send follow request

Step 5: Fill Campaign Details
Give your campaign a name that makes it easy to recognize later.
Then, select the Instagram account you want to use for this campaign.
After that, you’ll see two filter options:
- Add bio keywords to include — these are words that should be present in the bio of the profiles you want to target (e.g., “fitness coach”, “entrepreneur”).
- Add bio keywords to exclude — these help you skip profiles that aren’t a good fit (e.g., “fan page”, “giveaway”).
These filters help narrow down your audience so you’re targeting people who actually match what you’re looking for.
Step 6: Set Minimum Follower Count
Enter the minimum number of followers a profile should have. This helps you focus on users with some influence or reach.
Step 7: Confirm Your Campaign
Click Start My Campaign.
Step 8: Campaign Goes Live
That’s it — your campaign starts scanning. It usually takes around 10 minutes to process the audience.
Once it’s running, you can pause, edit, or stop it at any time.
